When Children’s National Hospital began its search for additional administrative offices in early 2018, it required close proximity to its main campus on Michigan Avenue and its new campus at the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the District. Enter Inventa Towers. Recently purchased and rebranded from the former Discovery Headquarters by Foulger-Pratt, Inventa offered Children’s National an ideal mix of Class A quality, large blocks of space, and an amenity-rich location in the heart of Silver Spring that was not only close to its DC campuses but also convenient for a large portion of its administrative staff.
Since signing their 140,000 square foot, 15-year lease across four floors of the Silver Spring office property in April 2019, Children’s has already expanded by an additional 13,000 square feet in the fall of 2019 and will take an additional 35,000 square feet by the close of Q1 2020, bringing its total footprint to 188,000 square feet at Inventa Towers. The expansion of Children’s National’s occupancy in the Silver Spring market has reinvigorated Downtown Silver Spring, supporting the local business community during the work week and breathing new life into Inventa Towers.
